The Problem
Devotional information in India is scattered — temple timings on one WhatsApp forward, aarti lyrics on a personal blog from 2011, festival dates on a printed panchang, katha PDFs floating on Telegram groups. Every family has their own private folder of screenshots.
There is no clean, searchable, canonical source that treats this material with the care it deserves.
What It Is
Bhaktidham is a one-stop devotional platform — a structured, verified database bringing temples, rituals, mantras, aartis, festivals and vrat-katha content together in a single searchable place.
- Temples — history, deity, timings, aarti schedule, how to reach, contact
- Rituals & Poojas — step-by-step vidhi with samagri lists you can actually take shopping
- Aartis, Chalisas, Mantras — clean typography, transliteration + Devanagari, tap-to-play audio where available
- Vrat & Festival Calendar — upcoming vrat, tithi-based reminders, regional variations
- Kathas — curated stories tied to festivals and vrats, told simply
Who It's For
Indian families — particularly the generation that grew up with WhatsApp forwards as their primary source of devotional content and wants something more trustworthy to share with their kids.
Principles
- Correctness over completeness — one verified aarti beats twelve badly-scanned ones.
- Regional respect — Marathi Ganpati and Bengali Ganpati are not the same festival; the app respects that.
- Offline-friendly — installs as a PWA so it works on the temple floor with no signal.
- No ads, no fake bhakti — this is not a monetization play dressed as devotion.
Status
